​BOOKING FEE

​

Bridal Parties:

•  If the client wishes to secure their wedding date, a 20% non-refundable booking fee is required to confirm the date and is redeemable against your final balance​​​​. It is advisable to secure your booking as soon as you can. I work on a ‘first come first served’ basis, whilst I may have informed you about my availability, your booking will not be confirmed until the booking fee is paid.

• The payment of the booking fee payment can be refunded up to 7 days after the trial in the event that no other alternative solution can be found and the client decides not to proceed with the booking. If no booking fee has been paid up to 7 days after the trial then the date will be released for other bookings.

•  A confirmation email will be sent to the client to confirm and reserve the booking when the booking fee payment is received.

All other Makeup appointments:

•  A booking fee of $20 per person is required to secure an appointment. The appointment will be confirmed on receipt of the booking fee being paid. The final balance is due on or before your appointment.

• The booking fee is redeemable against your final balance.

• The booking fee is non-refundable.

PAYMENT

​

• Payment is accepted by cash, eftpos using @square (1.9% surcharge) or bank transfer.

• Please email a screen shot of bank transfer as proof of payment

• Please use your full name as a reference for bank transfers, so that payments can be appropriately assigned.

• The final balance is due for payment no later than 14 days before your wedding date.

• For other bookings other than weddings, services must be paid on or before the day.

• The client scheduling the booking will be responsible for full payment of all services in the event that other people in the wedding party/group do not pay their portion. For all wedding/group makeup bookings the full remaining balance is due 7 days ahead of your booking date. All other small appointments such an event, formal, preview sessions are due 7 days prior.

•  Any last minute wedding bookings (e.g. with 14 days of your wedding) is payable in full up front to secure your booking.

CANCELLATIONS 

​

•   In the event that the client cancels the booking fee will not be refunded.

• Weddings: Cancellations within 14 days of the date of the event are chargeable in full. 

• In the unlikely event that the Makeup Artist cancels, as much advance notice as possible will be given to the client and every effort will be made to find a replacement Makeup Artist. If no replacement can be found then money paid in advance by the client to the Makeup Artist will be refunded with the exception of the payment for a bridal trial (if this service has already occurred).

•  If the booking is directly affected by circumstances beyond the control of the Makeup Artist including but not limited to weather conditions and  safety reasons, no compensation will be offered by the Makeup Artist. Clients are advised to takes out wedding/event insurance to cover these situations.

• If the client needs to change the date of  the event or wedding the Makeup Artist will do her best to accommodate this where possible and the client's payment will be transferred to the new date.  If the new date is unavailable then the booking  will be cancelled and the cancellation process, as stated above, will apply.  The Makeup Artist will try to find the client another Makeup Artist who is available on the new date , however, this cannot be guaranteed. 

•  The Makeup Artist reserves the right to insist on a minimum bridal booking party size during busy months and Saturdays.

• All other makeup appointments: A cancellation within 48 hours of the appointment is chargeable in full.

LIABILITY

​

•   All brushes, tools and makeup products are kept sanitary and are sanitized between every makeup application.  Any skin condition should be reported by the client to the makeup artist prior to application and, if need be, a sample test of makeup may be performed on the skin to test reaction. Client (s) agree to release the makeup artist, Melissa Christie from liability for any skin complications due to allergic reactions.

• Melissa Christie Makeup will not be held liable for any injuries or damages that may arise while on location.

• Melissa Christie Makeup is not liable for any suppliers that she recommends.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

       

• The client shall inform the Makeup Artist of any skin conditions, sensitivities or allergies prior to application. All details are treated as confidential. A sample test of a product may be performed on the skin to test a reaction. The client agrees to release the makeup artist from liability for any skin complications due to allergic reactions.

• The Makeup Artist reserves the right to refuse service to the client or members of the party for, but not limited to infectious conditions such as conjunctivitis/cold sores or any abusive and threatening behaviour.

• When booking Melissa Christie Makeup for location services, the client must ensure there is an appropriate work station available for a makeup application to be applied. This includes such things as lighting (natural lighting is always best)and an available work station i.e. bench or table and working power points.​

PHOTOGRAPHY

•  With the client's consent, the Makeup Artist would like to take photos to increase the Makeup Artist's portfolio. These may be used on the Makeup Artist’s website and social media pages for future clients to view.  Consent for photos is obtained on the booking form or signed upon on the client consent form prior to makeup application. The client can withdraw their consent at any time.​

DATA PROTECTION

• Any information provided by the client (e.g. name, telephone number, address) will be treated as confidential.

TRAVEL FEES

• All costs for travel to a booked event are to be paid by the client. Costs may include but not limited to: airfare, hotel, transportation and parking.

•  No travel fee will be applied if booking is within a 15km radius of the Makeup Artist studio base.

•  Travel fees will be applied and the rate will be determined by distance and time needed to travel and will be added to the quote prior to booking confirmation.

•  Parking expenses will be added to the booking if travelling to a location with no free parking.

• An additional charge may be incurred if the location requires the Makeup Artist to travel for over an hour for loss of earnings.

• The client will be advised of any travel or parking costs in written quotation.

By confirming your appointment and attending your makeup appointment, the client accepts the above terms and conditions.
