ABOUT ME
Melissa Christie Makeup is a Sunshine Coast based Freelance Makeup Artist specialising in Weddings, Special Events and photographic makeup. Melissa Christie Makeup is a mobile service that services the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast region as well as destination weddings to anywhere in the world. At Melissa Christie Makeup, only high-end luxury brands are used including MAC, Estee Lauder, Too Faced, Kat Von D, Benefit, Chanel and Tom Ford to name a few. Melissa Christie Makeup will take the time to help transform your vision into reality, to create a flawless and radiant finish to make sure you look and feel beautiful, whatever the occasion.
I have had a lifelong love affair with all thing’s beauty, especially makeup. It became a natural career progression for me. Prior to Freelance Makeup, I worked on private luxury Yachts based in the Mediterranean, managing Spas on board alongside other hairdressers, beauty and massage therapists and makeup artists. We catered to many different nationalities of clientele including Russian, European and American allowing me to work on many different skin tones, face and eye shapes and understand different trends in different countries.
I am a fully qualified makeup artist with a Diploma in Screen and Media Makeup, as well as Certificate 2 in Retail Makeup and Cosmetics. I started as a Freelance Makeup Artist in 2013, specialising in weddings and events including destination weddings in Mexico, France and various locations around Australia. Fast forward 8 years, I have recently moved to the Sunshine Coast and started work as a freelance artist, creating Melissa Christie Makeup.
On a personal note, I have been lucky enough to marry the love of my life and have adorable twin girls with a baby boy. I believe I am a happier Mum and Wife when I have some “me” time. I am fortunate to have turned a passion into a career so work is considered creative play for me. My favourite part about being a makeup artist is seeing clients faces light up when they see the transformation no matter how big or small. I hope to teach my girls that makeup isn’t just about making you look beautiful, but a way to feel beautiful and confident, express yourself and remember its what’s underneath all the makeup that counts. I appreciate that makeup is an art and the face is my canvas.
